Till We Win (A New Year’s Eve Song)

I wrote and performed this song specifically for a New Year’s Eve church service where I felt the people needed support and encouragement for the upcoming year. The title and theme is based off of one of Pastor Datha Thomas’ favorite sayings, “With God, it’s not over ’till you win.”

The night is long, the year is gone, where did it go again?
I could be wrong, but I hope this song
Will encourage you to begin
To think about tomorrow
And remember where we’ve been
No matter how hard the day is
No matter what the people are saying

With God, it’s never over till we win
He broke the chains of death and hell
And He’ll make sure we stand until
We win, it’s never over till we win
If you feel you’ve reached your end
Just get back up and try again
Cause it’s not over, till you win

Auld Lang Syne the world will sing, though they know not what it means
Then they’ll raise a glass for a time that’s past
But that does not comfort me
Like knowing where I’m going
Because I remember where I’ve been
No matter how hard the day is
No matter what the people are saying

With God, it’s never over till we win
He broke the chains of death and hell
And He’ll make sure we stand until
We win, it’s never over till we win
If you feel you’ve reached your end
Just get back up and try again
Cause it’s not over, till you win
