That Is Just the Way We Do

So I give you now a new commandment: Love each other just as much as I have loved you.. – John 13:34 TPT

You got questions, I do too
We got that sweet, sweet gospel music
It’s pouring out on the street
It turn the park benches to pews
You look a little confused
So, let me be clear, that is just the way we do around here

You got problems, well I do too
You got me, right, right, right beside you
If you lean a little on me, I’ll lean a little on you
Together, we’ll make it through
So, just so we are clear, that is just the way we do around here

And I’m aware that there’s some critics who don’t want to live this way
Maybe it’s not for everyone, what can ya’ say?
But, I’m growing rather tired of the insults and complaints
Why’d they come here, if there was so great?

You look hungry, well I am too
Nana got that sweet, sweet, sweet iced tea
She’s cooking up a feast that would feed an army or two
And she got a plate made for you
So, pull yourself up a chair, that is just the way we do around here

I’ve been to bigger cities, but there’s no place quite like home
There’s a million screaming voices, yet you’re all alone
And, maybe I like to spend my time with people who know my name
Outside we look much different, but at heart we’re just the same

You still got problems, well I do too
You still got me, right, right, right beside you
If you keep leaning on me, I’ll keep leaning on you
Together, we’ll make it through
So, just so we are clear, that is just the way we do around here

Umm, I say it again
Just so we are clear, that is just the way we do around here
